Man’s Best Friend: Dog is True after Obedience Training for Dogs

Being a dog lover is not easy as 1-2-3 or the A-B-C. At least with the alphabet you know what the next letter is. But with your dog you don’t know when the call of nature is. That’s why it is important that toilet training is included in the obedience training for dogs course your dog is. Cleaning up after your dog is not an easy task. Dogs don’t know the difference between the right place to do it and the forbidden place. That’s why you have to train your dog to hold it and go to the right place to do it.

There are dogs that do it often in a day. If they’re indoors it doesn’t matter where they do it. They are not trained to “hold it” and go to the proper place. Dog owners must have the patience for obedience training of their dog. Your patience will help your dog learn fast; caring for them would help a lot too.

Choose a particular part of the house where it would be your dog’s area. Put newspaper on this area and his food, water, dog toys, and bed. Make it known to him that this is his area. Whenever you leave the house make sure he is confined in his area. This way he would know that this is her toilet area.

Let’s say your dog’s name is Cosmo, you like your dog to stay indoors but has to learn his potty place. Choose a specific place in your house where you want your pet to do his potty business. It may be at a corner of a room, near the door, or at the laundry area. Wherever you choose, put your dog’s food, toys, bed, and enough newspapers to cover the area. Let Cosmo know that area is for his potty. Slowly start you obedience training for dogs.

The newspaper you have put in his area, gradually remove some. Make sure there’s enough room for his toilet thing. If he is doing it outside the newspaper that means you is removing the newspaper fast. Put back one or two to make sure it is enough. Eventually he would learn that this is territory and he can do it there. Also, that the other places in the house is a big no-no-no for his potty.

Eventually, your dog will learn that area is his space. He would learn that area is where he must go for his call of nature. When you leave the house make sure that your dog is confined to this area. When you are in the house, you can bring your dog outside and let him choose a spot where to do it. Then bring him out there every hour or two to do his business. Obedience training for dogs takes time and patience.

Once you have achieved your goal with the obedience training for dogs it is fulfilling. You’d love your pet dog more. It would make you proud of your dog wherever and whenever. Always keep in mind your dog would love to please you.
